Debbie Rich is a BAFTA-winning, Emmy-nominated freelance producer, director and editor with extensive experience in documentary and factual entertainment programme-making. She has created multiple award-winning television series for UK and US broadcasters and streamers.
Debbie began her career working on globally successful entertainment television formats including Strictly Come Dancing and I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! She went on to make the BAFTA award-winning second series of Gogglebox for Channel 4 and made multiple series of ITV’s BAFTA-winning gameshow The Cube. In 2021, she series produced the eight-part branded documentary series For The Love of Kitchens which aired on the US network Magnolia. The series was later nominated for an Emmy award.
Debbie was the executive producer of ITV's long-running cooking and dating formats Dinner Date and Celebrity Dinner Date, for which she received a National Reality Television Award in 2023. Dinner Date and Celebrity Dinner Date are broadcast in over twenty different countries around the world.
In 2022, ITN Productions engaged Debbie to produce the feature-length documentary All The Queen's Horses for Channel 5, as part of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, which kick-started Debbie's passion for archival documentary storytelling. From there, she went on to make A History of Royal Scandals for Channel 4 and E4, Paddy & Molly: Show No Mersey for BBC One and BBC Three, Unexplained: Caught on Camera for Discovery and The World's Deadliest Weather for Discovery and National Geographic.
Debbie has a strong track record of crafting clear, engaging narratives using archive, actuality and interview, and she is adept at handling sensitive subjects and multi-layered international stories. She works closely with a small team of talented camera operators and editors, and she self-shoots on the Sony FX6 and FX9. Debbie is proficient in various editing software packages including Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro, and DaVinci Resolve.
